This pitcher was fired to 2300 degrees for strength, durability, and vitrification (wouldn't leak even if it were not glazed). A long heat soak at peak temperature allowed the blue glazes on top of the silky white glaze time to run, mingle and develop rich and interesting colors. The "drips" are 3-d in that you can feel the drips formed by the glaze running down the sides, especially that really nice drip running down the handle. In pictures 3 and 4 you can see a few small spots where a glaze splattered onto the side. I took $10 off the price for that.
Makes a great centerpiece vase, too.
10 inches high and about 6 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom. Holds 10 3/4 cups.
Food safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.
