This is a "second" and on sale at a reduced price because it has a small surface crack on the inside near the top. See last picture above. The crack doesn't go all the way through and will not get bigger or make the pitcher leak or cause any other problem.
This pitcher was fired to 2300 degrees for strength, durability, and vitrification (wouldn't leak even if it were not glazed). A long heat soak at peak temperature allowed the glazes time to run, mingle and develop rich and interesting colors.
Makes a great centerpiece vase, too.
7 1/2 inches high and about 4 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom. Holds 5 1/4 cups.
Food safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.
