This wheel-thrown and altered spoon rest was made of porcelain clay and fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees gave the blue glaze time to fully develop variegated shades of blue. There are nice drips along the bottom where the glaze almost ran off. The raised spiral in the center prevents sauce spoons from sticking.
